I have just recently purchased a brand new Epson TM-T88V receipt printer for use with my POS system. I installed the driver that came with the printer, and everything was successful. I am able to print test pages to the printer through the utility program that also came with the printer, so I know that the hardware is connected to my computer. However, my computer seems to think that the printer is an 'Other Device' rather than a 'Printer.' This classification prevents me from selecting the printer as an option to print in my POS software. Does anyone know how to fix this problem so that my computer lists the hardware as a printer? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Micah. Hey Micah, You said you can print from the test utility, but you didn't say whether or not you can print from the driver you installed. I'll assume you're in Windows 7. Let me know if I'm wrong. If that doesn't print, you've got a driver issue. I'm going to guess that the issue is related to the TM-T88V's secondary interface. The printer has a primary USB interface affixed to the printer, but it also has a secondary interface, usually parallel or serial, which you are probably not using. ![]() Turn your printer off and disconnect it from the PC, then remove that secondary interface -- you'll have to remove a pair of screws first. It will leave a hole in the back of the printer, but don't worry about that, it won't hurt anything. Once that secondary interface is removed, reconnect the printer, and power it back on. You may want to reinstall the driver at this point, so it can properly detect the printer, but that may not be necessary. This should fix your issue. The printer will now be recognized as a USB printer, and the Windows driver should function properly. Hopefully your software will detect the printer now, too, since the printer should show as being online in Windows. If none of this turns out to work, let me know, and tell me which OS and POS software it is. -- James, from POSGuys. Okay, a couple of things, then: It's possible your driver isn't getting installed properly, and it's possible the computer isn't recognizing it as a USB printer. Let's check the latter of those two first, because it needs to be confirmed before we take too much time checking other things. Epson Tm T88iii DriverTo make sure it's getting recognized as a USB printer, unplug it from the computer. Descargar driver epson tm u220 windows 7 32 bits. Open Device Manager (you can open this by clicking your Start menu, typing devmgmt.msc, then pressing Enter). Click to expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section, and take a look for anything that says USB Printing Support. Count how many of these show up. Now plug your TM-T88V back in. It should show up in here as an additional USB Printing Support item. If it doesn't, then your printer isn't being recognized as a USB device, and I'd recommend contacting Epson, because the printer might be defective.
